Baths, Monterey and an Aquarium

For those of you that were aware of Andrew's recent bath-o-phobia, luckily it has quite suddenly subsided. He was ready to get out of the bath ducky, but he needed bath mats so he wouldn't slip in the tub. Add so many toys you can lose track of the toddler, and bath time is fun again.

Just in time for a visit from Oma and Grandpa. They came out for 10 days or so over labor day weekend, and we all went down to Monterey and stayed in a great place right on the water.

Oma, Grandpa and Drew enjoy the hotel sunset happy hour, while Mom and Andrew enjoy the biggest sand box ever! Soon Dad can't resist and comes down to join us.

Here we are actually pretending we are going to let his feet touch the water, rather than pulling him out of it. Luckily he still has a healthy fear of the giant waves of the pacific.

The next morning (after inquiring at the front desk of the hotel to see if we could stay another night-sorry all booked:( ), we went to the Monterey Aquarium. Andrew had fun playing in the toddler fun area.

There was a bouncy mat that is very fun for those still mastering walking and jumping.

Jellyfish.

Huge shark tank, Andrew was mesmorized by this, as was everyone else.

Finding a place for lunch after the aquarium, before a nice drive along the coast. Monterey was really beautiful, and we had a really great time. We can't wait for the opportunity to go back. I would highly recommend it in the summer, as the temperatures in San Jose for the duration of Grandpa and Oma's trip exceeded 95 nearly everyday, while it was a beautiful 70 degrees on the coast.
