100th Post

Wow, Andrew already has 100 posts in his blog. And since we are a little behind, here are some pictures from July:

The fourth of July. We went to see the fireworks in downtown San Jose. In the park where we went to see the show, there was a giant statue of a bald eagle. Or a falcon. But a bald eagle is more patriotic, so we are going with that.

Here are the actual fireworks. This is the first time Andrew has been to see fireworks, and we weren't sure how he would react, since he was pretty scared of the noise and cried most of the night last time. But then, last time, he wasn't even crawling yet! At first he was very quiet and kind of limp, maybe a stress response. But as people started clapping and cheering, he got into it. He sat up and pointed and clapped. And we had fun taking the train home, as it zipped thru the thousands cars downtown for the fireworks.

Andrew and his dad chillin' and watching TV.

Andrew watching TV in his very own chair. He loves to climb into his chair and eat some crackers in front of the TV.

The neighbors across the street had a new roof put on. That meant there were 1/2 a dozen guys on the roof for most of the weekend, hammering away. Andrew wanted them to know that he offers his assistance, anytime!

Near the end of July we drove down to the Garlic Fest in Gilroy. We had been talking about going to this for years, and now it was only a 45 minute drive away. They offered lots of garlic cuisine, including garlic pistashio ice cream (yum!). We had a fun time. We went over to the kids area, where home depot had a workshop. Andrew helped me to pot a plant, and got to wear his own apron. And we think he may be teething, as he is always chewing on his hands lately.

After Andrews first week in daycare, he came down with his first daycare related stomach bug. On this particular day we knew he was feeling pretty under-the-weather, since instead of his usual playful self, he just wanted to lay on Mom or Dad and cuddle. I hate to see him sick, but he can have all the cuddles he wants! Drew and I miss those days when he would just fall asleep on us for hours... He is feeling much better now.
